Accessibility Internet Rally - Training

The Accessibility Internet Rally for Texas state agencies (AIR-Texas) is coming to Austin in May. People with disabilities need access to the technology tools that are transforming society. Agencies, universities, colleges and school boards struggle to meet accessibility mandates and policies. Fees are incredibly low and limited scholarships are available. This unique training conference provides practical tools to create common understanding and remove access barriers:

Courses in web accessibility are geared for those just learning as well as for advanced practitioners and include accessible use of CSS, Adobe PDF, JavaScript and Macromedia. Some courses offered for the first time this year are:

  • Developing Accessibility Policy - Once you attain accessibility, how will you maintain it? This course will take you through the process of developing policy with a look at some of the best.
  • Assistive Technologies - How we use the web: Computer-based information greatly increases the independence of people with disabilities. See how it works!
  • Effective Writing for the Web - If your web site is often translated by online language bots, this course will help insure the clarity of that process. Learn to ensure that what comes out is clear and useable.
