Built-In Windows Accessibility Features and Utilities to Enhance Diverse User Needs:
A Reference Tool for Diverse Abilities & Accessible Information Technology (DAAIT)

Note: Read this first.

1. These web page links will demonstrate how accessibility features in Microsoft Windows are triggered. Understanding how to use these features will help meet the needs of students with disabilities and assist in providing an environment that is more accessible to everyone. However, it is important to keep in mind that using these features may not eliminate the requirement to provide assistive or adaptive technology to some students with disabilities in order for them to access the information technology.

2. These features function only with Microsoft Windows XP and 2000 operating systems. This web site in no way constitutes an endorsement of the use of these operating systems. It is simply a demonstration of the accessibility features in the system.

3. Use Internet Explorer only. Netscape will not open the links referenced to Microsoft Windows based accessibility feature files.

4. When selecting an accessibility feature link, choose "open" or run to view the feature if a window pops up asking you to do so. The links are simply a shortcut to features already available in the Windows operating system. However neither DLRP nor NMTAP are not responsible for any malfunction that may result in the use of these links.
