Language Assistance Features and Utilities
For Users With Language And/Or Learning Barriers

(Note: Select "Open" or "Run" from Browser File Download Menu, if this appears.)

• MS Word (in '97 - XP): located in "Tools" menu, activate by selecting tabs for spelling & grammar checks; to set language preferences; and other control preferences such as "Auto Correction", which corrects spelling as the user is typing text on the keyboard.

• XP Word for foreign language translation is available in "Tools" Tab  but is limited in capability.

• Web Based: Language Translator Utilities

See also other stand alone full-featured software options: It is necessary to have optical character recognition (OCR) scanning software and hardware to convert print to electronic text for language translation& text-to-speech reading (with a screen reader). This software is not built into Windows.
